Quickly murder the thugs watching television and move through the door.
To the right is a hole in the wall. Blast the enemies inside and loop around the corner to a set of double doors.
Kick them down and immediately drop the guy ahead then follow the path to a raised area with several baddies on it. Waste them all and proceed through the door and up the stairs. Here, the game will save. Move forward to another gap in the wall and blast the goons in the room beyond, careful not to slay the innocent. You can also go into the room and use the yellow splashes on the floor to produce a flashier death.
Go through the nearby door and you'll find a bat on the floor. In the same room is a criminal shouting at a woman in the corner. Grab and interrogate or kill him and talk to the woman for extra points. Go through the door nearby to find a dude with a skull over his head. Grab him and drag him to the window and trigger a special interrogation. When you've broken him, you can let him go and he'll go chat with the guys in 2B for you.
Follow him in there and blow away the baddies then finish him off, too. The door in the back right corner is a bathroom, so head to the other door and scoot through.
Here, you'll see a man being held hostage. Use the zoomed-in pistol and pick off the aggressor as he holds a gun to the other man's head. Talk to the two hostages and move to the next room. There are three doors here. Go through the leftmost one and talk to the contact there. You'd think that if they were going to cut anything from a Punisher vs.
Daredevil it would be one of the unrelated Typhoid Mary pages. Not that i'd want them to cut any of it. So technically the Punisher appearance at the beginning of this issue takes place prior to Punisher But this issue also goes longer beyond the end of Punisher 10 and shows what happens to Al Coppersmith after Daredevil takes him away.
So i've placed this after the Punisher issue. The stories should be understood to be taking place concurrently, in any event. I agree with you that Nocenti's effort at "understanding" here might be both heavy-handed and wrongheaded, but bearing in mind that this is fiction, I also think I'm a little bit more sympathetic to what she's doing. Part of what helped create the receptive cultural context for 'vigilante anti-heroes' was this notion that we real-life America are infected and surrounded by unhinged psychopaths who just kill babies for thrills.
While it's true that people like that existed, if you judged the actual situation from crime TV, "news" specials, films and novels at the time, there was a new Zodiac Killer or Ed Gein every week. In order for Punisher to have a monthly series where he's portrayed as 'heroic' while accumulating quite a body count , the population of Morally Reprehensible Demons With No Redeeming Qualities - who Only Understand Lethal Force - must continue to rise.
Nocenti was taking this crossover opportunity to subvert that just a bit, to add something beyond "they were abused as a child" as a possible mitigating or motivating factor. Nocenti's may have been an easily mockable naive liberalism, but it also ultimately lost, and that loss helped contribute to the dreadful situation of mass incarceration and militarized police that we have now.
Of course at the time I was so psyched about this crossover and honestly didn't think much about the moral implications of Punisher blasting baddies with no regard.
He claims that he offered him a job, but fears that it is illegal. Castle tells him to turn it down. Frank then disguises himself and attends a formal gathering ran by one of the people in charge of the gang he is after.
He pretends to be interested in taking the place of one of the people he killed, but the mobsters don't trust him. They try to capture and interrogate Castle but he manages to escape and defeat them.
